Emily Gore
Emily attended law school at the University of Alberta and was awarded the Leonard J. Pollock Q.C. Prize in Family Law for the highest mark in her family law class.
Emily was called to the Bar in March 2019 and since becoming a lawyer, she has practiced almost entirely in the areas of family and divorce law. She has gained extensive experience in these areas, as well as an excellent understanding of how to assist her clients with their separation and divorce.
Emily is a firm believer that settling matters outside of court is usually the best way to move forward as it is typically more cost-effective and clients are happier with the end result because they helped craft it. However, if the negotiations outside of court fail, Emily is happy to attend Court and advocate for her client’s position.
Emily is passionate about giving back to the community and volunteers her time to help do so. Emily volunteered with the Edmonton Community Legal Centre for three years assisting as a pro bono lawyer providing family law advice to Albertans. Emily is now starting to volunteer with the Centre for Autism Services Alberta.
Emily was raised in Kelowna, British Columbia, moved to Edmonton for law school in 2014, and stayed living in Edmonton after she graduated from law school but still goes to visit Kelowna in the summers. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching TV shows, and travelling.

I picked Emily and McKayle to be on my team. They provided high quality work and the billings (time spent on the file) were reasonable. They were also kind and the closing letter was professional. If you do not have them on your team, I think you should.
I have just concluded a 2 year divorce process with Emily Gore as my retainer. She was thorough, honest and empathetic from start to finish. In the end, the settlement was fair (which is best case) and predominantly civil. Emily also taught me how to protect myself both legally and financially moving forward, so I don't repeat the mistakes of the past. Divorce is a hard pill to swallow when you finally make the decision in your head and start down the path. A good lawyer like Emily can make the process less daunting, allow you to continue with your life, and ensure that documents, communication, and actions are being managed on both sides. I highly recommend Emily, and will absolutely refer friends and family to her.
