His practice focuses on family law and general civil litigation, and he works closely with clients to understand their goals and tailor legal strategies to their unique circumstances.
Kinnar encourages cooperative and out-of-court solutions whenever possible, while remaining a confident and effective advocate when litigation is necessary. He has regularly appeared before both the Alberta Court of Justice and the Court of King’s Bench, and has experience assisting clients with a range of family law matters, including determining parenting arrangements, property division, and child and spousal support, as well as matters involving Emergency Protection Orders. Kinnar also represents clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, including contract disputes, employment-related issues, and human rights claims.
Kinnar earned his Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, before returning to his home province of Alberta to practice. He also holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Alberta, Campus Saint-Jean. During law school, Kinnar worked as a research assistant on a range of legal topics, including family law, constitutional law, animal law, and prison law. He is fluent in French and assists clients in both of Canada’s official languages.
Outside of his legal practice, Kinnar enjoys playing the guitar and piano, hiking, and spending time with his wife and their dog.
